Nvidia launched new graphics card, the titan Volta, the card is based on a GV100 graphics processor.Comes with 12 GB of HBM2 memory across a 3072-bit wide memory interface. GPU is based on 5120 shader processors, 640 tensors cores and 320 texture units. Base clock is 1200 MHz and can boost up to 1455 MHz.
Incredible 12 GB memory runs at 1.7 Gbps. The card have 6-pin and 8-pin power connectors. The card have three display ports and one HDMI connector. Regular vapor chamber cooler with a copper heatsink and use about 250W TDP.
NVIDIA Volta don’t have SLI fingers, nvidia now use NVlink connections at the top of the PCB. Price for this card is staggering $2.999 and is available only at NVIDIA store. The Titan Volta marks a new era, it is NVIDIA’s first HBM2-equipped prosumer graphics card available for the masses. Nvidia has not released any gaming performance related information, nor will they anytime soon.
Announced by NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang at the annual NIPS conference, TITAN V excels at computational processing for scientific simulation. Its 21.1 billion transistors deliver 110 teraflops of raw horsepower, 9x that of its predecessor, and extreme energy efficiency.
“Our vision for Volta was to push the outer limits of high performance computing and AI. We broke new ground with its new processor architecture, instructions, numerical formats, memory architecture and processor links,” said Huang. “With TITAN V, we are putting Volta into the hands of researchers and scientists all over the world. I can’t wait to see their breakthrough discoveries.”
Users of TITAN V can gain immediate access to the latest GPU-optimized AI, deep learning and HPC software by signing up at no charge for an NVIDIA GPU Cloud account.
